Poschinger Glassworks since 1568
Look, listen, marvel – and try glassblowing yourself: Guided tours of the glassworks
Those who take a guided tour through the historical kiln hall of the Freiherr von Poschinger glassworks in Frauenau are immersed in a tradition that stretches back four and a half centuries. The tour offers visitors the unique opportunity to experience the production of mouth-blown and handmade glass first-hand. By integrating novel innovations and tools, Poschinger keeps this ancient art alive and produces exclusive crystal glass on a daily basis.
The “short tour” is a 20-minute tour of the historical kiln hall led by an expert guide (offered from Monday to Friday every hour on the hour between 10 AM and 2 PM; Saturdays every hour on the hour between 11 AM and 1 PM). After an introduction to the secrets of glass and Poschinger’s glassworks tradition, visitors are free to explore the room for themselves, watch the glassblowers at work and even try their hand at blowing glass.
A “full tour” is also possible. This encompasses a one-hour route through the glassworks with an expert guide. (Only by prior arrangement and for groups of 10 persons or more).
